CDS is one of the reasons we chose Pittsburgh as a place to live. Paul was looking for an academic position, and I just wanted to make sure that there was a Jewish day school like this one wherever we would make our home. So my first encounters with CDS were though the Jewish Yellow Pages!
Our oldest son, Yossi, became a student at CDS before I ever took a position there. We were fortunate to be able to have all our children attend from Kindergarten through 8th Grade. They all overlapped for one year only when Eliana was in Kindergarten and Yossi was in 8th Grade. They loved running into each other during the school day. Yossi got to be a Reading Buddy for Eliana’s class and that was really exciting for both of them. I also have a beautiful memory (and a photo somewhere) of Isaac sitting on Boaz’s lap while Boaz attended his “Moving Up Ceremony” entering Middle School and receiving his Middle School Siddur. Tons more memories and photos to come!
